The International Shaolin Kenpo Association was established by Great Grandmaster Ralph Castro in 1981. It is the only governing body of Shaolin Kenpo. The group governs the technical quality of Shaolin Kenpo together with its members. It confirms who can be certified Shaolin Kenpo instructors and can approve, review, inspect and revoke schools.
Since the organisation represents Shaolin Kenpo, it aims to mediate and resolve issues related to Shaolin Kenpo. It also promotes seminars, competitions, demonstrations and other events.
The association requires its members, teachers, students and schools, to be Shaolin Kenpo practitioners. A proposal to permit a class of non-voting members who are former instructors, former students, parents, local business individuals, and community heads who want to support Shaolin Kenpo is currently in discussion. Future members might include a few expert martial artists of other systems. These experts would be carefully chosen and should cooperate with the administrators of Shaolin Kenpo in organising joint events.
The officers of the group are Great Grandmaster Ralph Castro, President; Grandmaster Rob Castro, Vice President; Professor Sam Lucas, Secretary/Treasurer; Professor May Castro-Manner, Internal Affairs Director; and Professor June Castro-Michalowski, External Affairs Director. The internal affairs’ subordinate committee’s members are Professor Marvin Cunningham and Sibok Tony Batshon. The external affairs’ subordinate committee’s members are Sibok Leo Lopez and Sibok Gerald Ronan. The regional representatives are Sibok Francisco J. Viciana, Sibok Frank Ricardo, Sifu Milton Navarro, Sifu Ben Galleano, Sifu Martin Castro, and Sifu Micheal Castro.
